Hello, friend.
I'm Marrissa Parham and I am a beloved child of God. I love making lovely visual and sonic sanctuaries for people to find and connect with the Maker, Sustainer, and Savior of their souls.
I lead worship and write songs in the Metro Detroit area of Michigan. I'm married and get to do life with Mr. Sam Parham, my very best friend, and for the last 11 years we've been part of a band called The Timbre of Cedar, making music with some of our dearest friends.
On a light level, I love lattes (a LATTE), clearly puns as well, a good meal (especially if olives or hot sauce is involved...I know, I'm weird), going on walks and having deep conversations with Sam, family or friends. I LOVE laughing and silliness, soft and cozy things, and cute creatures of all kinds.
On a deeper level, I love slowed down time with God and believe that He is the most glorious and Grand Designer of all and His magnificent, holy, and beautiful fingerprints are absolutely everywhere! Take a hike through a forest alongside a babbling brook, dance in a field at sunset, stop to smell a fragrant flower, listen to the deep belly laugh of a precious baby, weep with a friend, slow down to make and savor a good meal or the feel of dirt on your hands after planting a garden. The Lord is all around, among simple and holy moments, and we, including myself, often miss him amidst the distraction and hurry of our age.
He says to come to Him like a child. So my prayer is that this offering of music and thoughts you find here will help us come to Him with wonder, delight, trust and humility—back to the Garden, walking with our Maker in the cool of the day, bearing spiritual fruit in every season that all would taste and see that He is Good. Let's walk together.
Love,
Marrissa
